Temple has been a pioneer in experiential learning for more than half a century, and today`s innovative teaching methods are based on the experience that only decades of leadership can bring. Temple`s experiential programs are innovatively designed, carefully drawing on lessons learned in our classrooms and integrated throughout the program. Temple Law School offers two study abroad programs open to students from any ABA approved law school: the Summer Session in Rome and the Spring Semester in Tokyo (at Temple University Japan). The Tokyo program is perhaps the most notable as it is the only ABA-accredited semester program for law students in Japan. The graduate program in Taxation is designed to provide an understanding of complex tax issues. The program provides candidates with a solid foundation in tax law as well as the opportunity to develop expertise beyond the level of study offered in JD`s programs. A graduate candidate must satisfactorily complete 24 credit hours of coursework, including all core program requirements and a writing seminar.

Applicants may study full-time or part-time and all courses must be completed within four years of registration. Applicants must have successfully completed a core income tax course at Law School or have demonstrated comparable work experience. A candidate who is unable to meet this requirement must complete the core course in taxation offered in Temple`s JD program within the first semester following admission to the LL.M. program. The Faculty of Law offers several graduate programs, including Master of Laws Degree (LL.M.) in Trial Advocacy, Transnational Law, Asian Law, and Taxation. Certificate programs in estate planning and benefits are offered as part of the tax program. International lawyers have the opportunity to design their own program through Temple`s General LL.M. program. In addition to the LL.M., Temple offers a graduate degree for budding scholars, the Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) and a graduate scholarship program. Temple students are willing and eager to succeed in any area of the legal labor market, as they have gained a unique practical education that other schools do not offer.

As graduates, they have a reputation for being able to start the field, confident and ready to practice in the field of their choice. The Career Services Office helps students develop strategies for obtaining employment and provides the resources to complete each student`s individual job search. Through the school`s online career planning manager, students can view job openings, participate in various recruitment programs, and apply for jobs. In addition, personal career guidance is encouraged, and workshops and programs are offered to help students improve their job search skills, including resume writing, networking and interviews. Temple alumni work in all 50 states and around the world in various areas of law. The Application Tracker tool allows you to track and view the status of your LLM applications online and connect with others interested in the same programs. Add a program to your personal App Tracker watch list by clicking the “Track” button that appears in each law school entry. View the activities of all the schools you`ve tracked by going to App Tracker. You can view and change the status of your app tracking in your account at any time. The Application Tracker tool allows you to track and visualize the status of your LLM applications online. In the weeks following entering school, students negotiate employment contracts and interview fake clients in Introduction to Transactional Skills, while Litigation Basics sets them up to interview witnesses in mock trials and cross-examine them. During their first summer, temple students have the opportunity to learn these skills either through the law and public policy program in Washington, D.C., or through the temple in Philadelphia`s summer work experience program.

Whether they are in the courtroom, the boardroom or the classroom, the experiences our students have today will make all the difference in their careers tomorrow. A limited number of apartments are available for PhD students, although most LL.M. Students live in private off-campus housing nearby. They actively participate in the leadership of the law school as members of the Student Bar Association, which oversees the more than 30 student groups that thrive at Temple, including the Black Law Students Association, the Latino Law Students Association, the Asian/Pacific Islander American Law Student Association, the Women`s Law Caucus, and OUTLaw. Student publications include Temple Law Review and Temple International and Comparative Law Journal. Students who excel in advocacy can participate on the National Trial Team or Moot Court Team.

Our LL.M. program is one of the oldest in the United States, with alumni from around the world. After you begin your online application, please submit the following documents: Temple offers an LL.M. program for foreign-trained lawyers. With the exception of two mandatory research and writing courses, students can design their own program from more than 180 courses offered each year in U.S. and international law. General LL.M. graduates must successfully complete 24 credit hours of coursework with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (out of a 4.0 possibility). The program can be completed in two semesters from August to May. In addition to the main campus in Philadelphia, the general LL.M. is offered in Tokyo and Beijing.

Students can earn up to four credits in Temple`s six-week summer law program in Rome, Italy, at the main L.L.M. campus. Admission for fall 2019 was very competitive, with 232 candidates registered out of a pool of 2,350. The GPA was 3.56 and the LSAT average was 161. The 25th/75th percentile of participants had a cumulative mean of 3.28/3.72 and LSAT scores of 158/163. [4] The class represented 113 different colleges and came from 32 states and countries. Women made up 49% of the class, 34% were students of color, and the average age was 26. [5] Temple law has a very strong sense of community.

Our LL.M. students actively participate in many aspects of law school student life, including participation in student organizations, events, and other social activities, form close ties with other LL.M. and JD students, and live university life to the fullest. The Estate Planning Certificate (exposes students to federal issues related to property, gifts and generational tax jumps, as well as federal trust and estate income tax.
