After the fall of Doflamingo and the ruin of Kaido`s business, the Yonko turned his gaze to Trafalgar Law and Luffy. Law reiterated the fact that he had only three years to live, to which Doflamingo replied that his underground affairs would lead him to Ope Ope ni Mi Devil Fruit, the “ultimate fruit of the devil”, which would be able to cure any disease. He told Law that if he found a way to survive for more than three years, he would get the seat of the heart in the family and become his right-hand man in a decade. The Zou arc ended with Luffy taking part of his crew to rescue Sanji from Big Mom, Nekomamushi leading his team in search of Marco, and Kin`emon Law and the rest of the straw hat pirates in the land of Fano, where their plan to defeat Yonko Kaido would finally begin. Corazon, Doflamingo`s younger brother, apparently hated children throwing Law out of the window and into ruins, and remembered that Law had promised to kill him later in revenge.
At a dinner party, Law was informed of the family`s blood oath, where killing another member would lead to torture and death, but Law didn`t care when he snuck up behind Corazon and stabbed him in the back.
